So, what can I do for you?
Anything really. After all, I am quite competent and I am a quick learner and I actually like learning new skills.
Most of my working life has been spent with the Environment Agency. Not many people know who or what the Environment Agency is so I shall tell you. The Environment Agency is a non governmental organisation that falls under the remit of DEFRA. They deal with environmental incidents like river pollution, fly-tipping, air pollution and other exciting things. They also deal with flooding from main river and coastal flooding. If you're a keen fisherman you will know that you have to have a rod licence, which you purchase from the Environment Agency. Exciting stuff, eh?
I was employed by the Environment Agency from 30th September 1996 until 31st March 2011. From 30th September 1996 until 7th December 2007 I worked in the 24 hour control room as a Regional Control Centre Operator (they like long job titles at the Environment Agency as you will see a bit further down). This mostly consisted of receiving incident reports, filling out incident report forms and passing the incidents on to the appropriate standby officer. There was also a lot of administrative work involved in this role. In 2007 the regional control centre closed and I avoided redundancy by skilfully moving to another department in the Environment Agency. On 7th December 2007 I became a Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) Regulatory Assistant (how's that for a job title?) for the PPC Merseyside team. This was a much more administrative role. Now, if you direct your gaze to the right I will tell you what I can do. |
I will now do a fancy bullet pointed list of things I can do. This list is by no means exhaustive, but I think it will give you a good idea of my skills and capabilities.
